So while I was whizzing around and spying on brands at Pure, I also noticed some brilliant, new, quirky, fresh brands as well as the existing top dogs. I think there is a demand for little vintage and unique brands at the moment – people don’t have a great deal of money, but still feel the need to discover something new and exciting and look different
One brand i came across was Liquorish this brand caught my attention because I love the brand name and thought it suited the collection. I hadn’t heard of it before but will be sure to buy one of the embellished vests! The spring collection consisted of sassy sequin disco dresses and shorts, nautical stripes, directional denim, and a couple of compliementry edgy tailored pieces. A great find! According to the website, Rihanna, tulisa and pixie geldof have also worn liquorish’s sexy eye catching pieces! A ‘sweet’ collection suitable for ‘allsorts’
Trollied Dolly is the other up and coming brand I noticed at the show. The name caught my attention here due to it’s comic effect! But then when I looked closer at the product I realised you dont have to be totally ‘trollied’ to appreciate these quirky, retro bright and bold skater dresses. They are loud and proud and really make a statement. Created and designed by two sisters (who I got chatting to and are very friendly) Trollied Dolly is built on the ethos that colour equals fun, and the stand also reflected this. Definitely one to throw in your trolly!!
